The Alamance County Chapter of the Autism Society of NC meets on the second Thursday of each month at Shiloh Presbyterian Church (2638 Grand Oaks Blvd., Burlington, 27215; see below for directions)

from 6:30 p.m.–8:00 p.m. (No meetings in June, July, or August)

Childcare is available. You must RSVP for this service, with the number of children attending, one week in advance of the meeting. If we do not receive requests, we will be unable to offer this service.

          Anitra Lambeth and other ABSS teachers will offer advice

          on making school a successful team effort.

October 14--Music Therapy

          Whitney Davison, music therapist, will discuss

          the Voices Together program.

          Come snack and socialize with other parents/caregivers!

January 13, 2011--Family Dynamics: Sibling Relationships

          Sarah Palmer, a school psychologist intern with ABSS, will        discuss growing up with a brother on the spectrum.

February 10--ABSS Exceptional Children Parent Liaison

          Phyllis Crisp, recently hired by ABSS as a support worker          for EC families, will discuss how she can help your family.

March 10--What Can TEACCH Do for Me Right Now?

          TEACCH has had to make big changes.  A representative         from TEACCH will present what they can do to help you.

April 14--**Family Carnival**

          Bring the whole family for a night of food, fun, and games!

          Socialize with other families who have a child with autism.

May 12--Social Skills Classes

          Amy Bodnarik, a specialist with Spectrum Resources,

          will discuss social skills classes held in Raleigh.
